You've probably come across examples of our work already, possibly without even being aware of it.

Maybe in a hospital. In your living room. While shaving. When unpacking your new TV. In a night-time urban environment illuminated by street lighting. While browsing the Web. Or during your daily commute to work.

Our designs, ideas, research results and visions have found expression in everything from consumer electronics products to medical systems - and the environments in which they are located - lighting, domestic appliances, cars and even jackets that play music and let you call your friends.

And always with a common theme; applying design in its broadest sense to enhance the quality of people's lives. We do this throughout the Philips organization, as well as for selected external clients.

We offer our design services to a wide portfolio of clients, active in industries ranging from consumer electronics, domestic appliances, consumer and professional lighting applications, city beautification, transportation,

Research projects

Our ongoing Design Research program provides new insights and territory for intellectual engagement and creating knowledge, competences and capabilities. It recognizes the fact that design needs to change if it is to
                         further enrich and reflect our cultures.
